2017 Outlook Optimistic to ROCKFONMarch 20, 2017
As we review predictions and forecasts for 2017, ROCKFON remains encouraged by the continued growth in opportunities to create beautiful, comfortable spaces with our complete ceiling systems.
We proudly base this optimistic outlook on the strength of our customer relationships, the quality of our products, and our knowledge of the industry.
The 2017 Dodge Construction Outlook is among our industry resources. It reported that total U.S. construction starts for this year will advance 5% to $713 billion, following gains of 11% in 2015 and an estimated 1% in 2016. Robert Murray, chief economist for Dodge Data & Analytics, stated, “The construction industry has now entered a more mature phase of its expansion, one that is characterized by slower rates of growth than what took place during the 2012-2015 period, but still growth.”
Market-specific highlights from the Dodge Construction Outlook note that:
Commercial building will increase 6%, which includes gains in office and retail construction.
Manufacturing plant construction also will increase 6%, recovering from steep declines in the last two years.
Institutional building will advance 10% with an increasing amount of k-12 school construction, supported by the passage of recent public education construction bond measures. Growth for healthcare is anticipated with more outpatient clinics and stand-alone medical facilities.
Transportation and amusement buildings, such as convention centers , sports arenas and casinos, also are predicted to grow in 2017.
We are prepared to respond to all of these opportunities. We are eager to support the new construction and renovation project teams who strive for inspired ceiling designs. We are ready to help with ceiling product selection to meet the specific, optimized performance needs of the project. We look forward to sharing our technical knowledge and collaborating to ensure every project will be a success.
