MasterEmaco S 466CI
How does MasterEmaco S 466CI work?
MasterEmaco S 466CI is a flowable, shrinkage-compensated repair concrete. It is designed for large volume repairs, including structural elements in applications from 1" (50 mm) to full depth. It has a unique formulation that provides excellent bond, resistance to sulfates and chlorides, high electrical resistivity, low permeability, high-compressive strengths, and protection from corrosion. Recommended uses:

MasterSeal NP 520
How does MasterSeal NP 520 work?
MasterSeal® NP 520 is a single component, siliconized acrylic latex sealant formulated to provide easy gunnability, tooling and a fast setting seal with minimal shrinkage. It provides enhanced adhesion and weather ability, making it an ideal solution for many interior and exterior sealing applications. Used as an acoustical sealant, MasterSeal NP 520 reduces sound transmission in partition systems to support high STC values by sealing spaces around cut-outs and at perimeters of partitions. The sealant cures to a tough rubber to form a long-lasting acoustical seal. Recommended uses:

- Vertical or horizontal

- Exterior or interior

- Joints with low movement

Cold-Formed Steel Basics

Good to know

Steel Gauges and Thicknesses:
Within the construction industry there is often confusion over gauges, gauge numbers and the actual thickness. All sheet steel thicknesses are expressed in millimeters to 3 decimal places. The following information will explain thickness.

Base Steel Thickness: The thickness of the sheet steel material without any coatings.

Design Thickness: The design thickness is the thickness of the base steel only, and is used by the engineer to determine the structural properties and design calculations of the cold-formed product. This is the thickness that is often listed in product catalogs and load tables.

Coated Thickness: The thickness of the steel sheet including any metallic coatings and paint coatings.

Minimum Thickness: The minimum thickness of structural sheet steel building products delivered to the job site will be the design thickness minus the maximum allowable under-tolerance specified by the CSA S136 Standard or the material specification, whichever is more restrictive. The minimum thickness allowed by the CSA S136 Standard is 95% of the design thickness.

Coating Weights:
Metallic coatings are applied to steel sheet by the hot-dip process and are offered in a range of coating weights (grams per square meter of sheet surface, total both sides). Each coating class is given a coating designation. Below you will find a table with the most common coatings presently used.
In all industry standards and specifications related to cold-formed steel framing the minimum galvanized coating for non-structural members is Z120 (G40) and for structural framing is Z180 (G60).

Further Information on the Long-Term Performance of Galvanized Steel Framing: The long-term performance of galvanized steel framing has been studied to verify that these minimum coating weights are appropriate. The conclusions from a 10-year study undertaken by the NAHB Research Center clearly demonstrate that the life span of these standard metallic coatings was well beyond the life expectancy of modern buildings.
